From 1945 newspapers it transpires that the plane was found by a "native" in a mountainous area in June 1942. A joint US-Soviet search party set out only to be prevented entry by "hostile native tribes". After intervention by the Iran gov't, (the) bodies could be recovered and remains were buried at the scene at that time.
