Tom Neil in Malta. Did he take off from the Ark Royal?
I have a question regarding Wing Commander Tom Neil who served in Malta in 1941, that I hope you can help me with?
I have read that "He embarked with No. 249 Squadron on HMS Furious on 10 May 1941 and sailed for Gibraltar, and on arrival the squadron transferred to Ark Royal. The squadron flew to Ta' Qali on 21 May to take part in the Battle of Malta" My question is, did he fly off Ark Royal and land at Ta'Qali and if so, what aircraft did he do this in (any specific aircraft details (markings)) very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Neil Last edited by Mysticpuma; 19th April 2021 at 00:03. |
