Re: Attack on the Spitfire Factory at Eastleigh on 11 September 1940
Tnanks Nick,
Lt. Adametz was a pilot and Uffz. Koch a BF, both in 14./LG 1, this matches the Einzelmeldung listing of two claims for V./LG 1. However, several sources follow Tony Woods' claim listing for Ltn. Werkeiser of Stab V.(Z)/LG 1, for a Spitfire over S.E. London at 15.57 BST on 11 September. Like JG2, this, confusingly, links V./LG 1 to the Southampton and London raids, which took place at the same approximate time. Bt the way your Ju 87 loss listings are for 2 and 3./StG. 77, which lost four aircraft in two collisons on this date, with another 3 Staffel Ju 87 damaged in a taxiing accident. Peter |
