Possible victory over Edmund J Brennan 752100 Pilot KIA P-38 42-67445
Edmund J Brennan 752100 Pilot KIA P-38 42-67445 ( 364th Fighter Group 383rd Fighter Squadron) probably enemy aircraft crashed Dexheim Gr 12-04-1944 14:10 . Buried 14-04-1944 cemetery Dexheim near Oppenheim. Target was Schweinfurt, they were on the return leg. MACR 3760 KUJ-823
In the MACR there is a note that enemy aircraft were near. Brennan flew through a cloud and was never seen again.
From MACR:STATEMENT We left enemy in a shallow high speed dive south of Frankfurt. Enemy did not seem to follow us down although several of them followed in our direction, 5000 feet above and south of us. My two ships were behind white flight. Lt. Wilson, my second ship, called that a P-38 was behind us. I saw this ship, which was undoubtedly Lt. Brennan's, a short distance behind Lt. Wilson, apparently on both engines. Looking back again within a minute I could not find him. Right after that he called that he was in a cloud which he appeared to be heading for when I previously saw him. His transmission was cut off and I was unable to contact him after several attempts.
Any claims for that area?
