Two Mosquito INTRUDER claims
Good night to all!
I am looking to the claims submitted on two nights against German Night-Fighter aces: 1) 12/13 September of 1944. The Bf 110 G of Georg-Hermann Greiner from .11/NJG 1 was shot down. The rear gunner Obfw Rolf-Armim Kissing was found dead when Greiner landed his plane at Dortmund. I found on the NJG 1 records that this event may have ocurred on the night of 17/18 September! What was the correct date? There is a RAF Claim that matches this loss? I do know that 418 Squadron and particularly W/C Russ Bannock operated in the vicinity of Dortmund this night, but he seems to have claimed another German machine. 2) It seems that on the night of 16/17 March 1945 a Mosquito Mark XXX ( which serial number, which codes ?? ) from 239 Squadron flown by F/L Dennis Hughes shot down the Junkers Ju 88 G-6,werk 620 046 C9+BB flown by Maj. Hoffmann. Was this the only claim that night? Could another Mosquito pilot have claimed this machine? Thank you for all enlightment on these two misterious ocurrencies Adriano |
