Lt. Herbert Hoffer-Sulmthal (von Hoffer)

According to Obermaier's "RK der LW 1939-1945", in April 1943, von Hoffer was transferred to "KOA-Lehrgang in Fürstenfeldbruck" following service with 5.(S)/LG 2 and 2./Schl.G 1. Can anyone enlighten me as to the function of this unit?
