Re: WerkNumber 5425 Fw-190A2
W.Nr. 5425 was assembled in May 1942 in Warnemünde Arado factory and in summer it was probably allotted to I./JG5. A year later it was assigned to IV./JG5 which at that time was converting to FW 190s.
Two loss records known for this machine: 13.8.1943 it overturned during landing with Uffz. Wolfgang Kindt (WFA) at the controls, damage 30%, W.Nr.5425 wore tactical code “black 6 +” at the time of the incident since it was serving with 11./JG5 15.12.1943 it ditched in the area mentioned in one of the previous posts and was a complete loss (100%), cause of the accident engine damage, pilot unknown. It is very likely that it was Fw. Kurt Kundrus because he is known to have ditched some day during December 1943. The tactical code W.Nr.5425 wore when definitely lost was “yellow 16 + “ and it was with 12./JG5 Jan |
