CIVIL AIR GUARD

I would like to ask Forum members for help regarding the pre-war Civil Air Guard.

I am researching an individual who is recorded as: ‘A Civil Air Guard member who passed his ‘A’ licence during April 1939 at the York & Leeming Flying Club’.

As a ‘member’ of the Civil Air Guard would he have worn the distinctive uniform of the C.A.G. or was this only issued to those instructing other members to fly etc?

Kind regards, Malcolm.
