Albemarle V1641 TT - 04 March 1944
I am trying to find out information concerning the loss of Albemarle V1641 TT which took off from RAF Hurn at 2112hrs on the 3rd March 1944 on a supply drop operation for the SOE over France.
I have managed to find out that it was shot down near Chateaudun that night/early morning of the 4th and the crew are buried in Orleans. I'm just curious if there are any other resources that can add a few more details to the aircraft and mission. One of the crew was part of my wife's family, hence my interest. Unfortunately the Air Historical Branch are unable to release any info as there is no blood ties to my wife (her Grand-Aunt was married to the crewman). There are no direct family alive now. Any pointers would be appreciated. Mark
