In the Tagesmeldungen West from Obk.des Heeres (Gen.St.d.H/Op.Abt.IIIC) period 2-12 april 1945 I found: "3-4. Gruppe Student:Enemy formed a small bridghead near Delden, north of the Twentekanaal. After taking Hengelo and Nordhorn (Ger) the enemy moved on direction Lingen (Ger)". This location is still far south of Meppel, but Meppen in Germany is still a possibility. Still this doesn't help locate the place where Lt. Pound or his P-51 came down....
