Log book of Bf Uffz Ernst Weiss shows that in three flights in Feb.1944 his pilot was Gen.Oberst Alfred Keller (b.19-9-1882) flying He111 VC+XP. The Luftwaffe historian Oberst.Ltn. Hasso von Wedel age 47 was shot on 15-9-40 crashlanding his Bf109 and taken POW. Was not Keith Park flying himself around in a Hurricane in the BoB age 48, and I think Bomber Command Losses for 1940 had the operational loss of a crewman in his mid fifties. Brig.Gen. Frederick Castle USAAF (age 36) was lost on 24-12-1944 flying with the 487th B.G.
