Yes, 50 miles is about correct. Problem is, most planes did not get lost over the target, but rather en route or while on the return trip. Also if one can believe Bomber Command Losses, there have been more crashes around Moenchengladbach than anywhere in Germany. Truth be told, Moechengladbach was the collection point for most deceased aviators in North-Rhine Westphalia. Danny
