Rudel, Schlachtgeschwader 2 & Kitzingen
I am looking for details of the Ground Units of Schlachtgeschwader 2 which attempted to drive into Western Controlled territory between 5th and 8th May 1945. As is known, various air elements flew to Kitzingen air field where they surrendered to 405th Fighter Group. But it is the ground convoy I am seeking info on. Specifically an Oberfeldwebel Herbert Fuchs. Fuchs died on 7th May, having been shot in the head on 5th - presumably in this convoy. Any info gratefully received.
