Spitfire PR 19 tactical trials, 1963
I believe the National Archives at Kew have a copy of the tactical trials which pitted a Spitfire PR 19 of the Battle of Britain flight against an English Electric Lightning jet interceptor, circa 1963 or so.
The goal was to come up with effective tactics in case the RAF's Lightnings ended up in air combat with Indonesia's P-51s during the Confrontation. Can anyone provide the title of this report and where it can be found at Kew? thanks. David Isby
