I can only guess that this statement was prompted by the discussion between me and you. So assuming that the statement was issued against the likes of me, let me carify a few things:

I have no beef with Rare Aero. I am glad that they stated " that they do not condone smuggling or the illegal removal of historical artefacts from foreign countries and have never knowingly been involved in such activity" and it is very much appreciated

They also stated that

" Any untrue statements made in public will be dealt with through legal channels "

.. as they should, as long as these statements are made against them.

If any such statements currently exist on this site (or anywhere else) in which the good name of Rare Aero has bee sullied , it would help if they point such untrue statements against Rare Aero so that action can be taken.

Ofcourse I made some statements against some individuals who acted as the middle men. (Note: NEVER Rare Aero or its promotors). I have based this on my own study of the coverage of the investigation, reporting and events, which stated that as recently as 2007, a chargesheet was opened against 17 people involved in the deal. the chargesheet was filed by the Karnataka state police. Those are all on public record so I have said nothing that was wrong.

Anyway what really prompted the discussion between you and me was your assertion that the Me-109 would not have been taken care of and it would have rusted way. While I am of the opinion that it would have been taken car of even if it was in India, ofcourse not airworthy condition, it will get there at some point.

Interesting how one thing led to another and now we are discussing libel and legal issues.
