RAF Hampden X2990 83 sqn & Ltn. Völker: 1 2./NJG 2 ?
Greetings,
I'm trying to figure out if RAF Hampden X2990 of 83 squadron from Scampton, mine laying in the Gironde estuary, was shot down or came down 26-27/10/1940 due to other reasons. The plane was lost, the crew are listed at Runnymede. I found this entry Tony Wood's Combat Claims & Casualties Lists Night Phase: 27-28. October 1940 Supplemental and/or Duplicated Claims from OKLs & Lists: 28.10.40 Ltn. Völker: 1 2./NJG 2 Hampden Scampton 00.30 Reference: W. Bock f. 204 Does anyone have a view if these are the same. The German claim would appear to be a day late ?
