Fw 200 'F8+CL'
Hallo all,
According to 'Focke-Wulf Fw 200' by Jan-Carlos Salgado the Condor of Lt. Thiede, 'F8+CL' was driven away from a convoy by a Fairey Fulmar flown by Sub-Lt. Birrell of the FAA on 27 August 1941. Does anyone have the Werk Nummer of this Condor ? Looking through the detailed loss lists in the other Condor book by Jerry Scutts one finds two Condors using the 'CL' code seemingly at the same time. '0037' as 'CL' was damaged on 11-1-1941 (but in the text it is 'GL'), again on 11-8-1941 and 17-12-1942. It was also damaged as 'GL' on 14-2-1942. '0063' as 'CL' was damaged on 17-7-1941. Any help would be much appreciated to identify the Thiede Condor of 27-8-1941. Regards, Martin Gleeson. |
