Fw190A W.Nr and Factory (Werk plate)

Hi

As everyone is aware, the FHC Fw190A-5 1227 has now flown.

There has been some discussion recently from two respectable and knowledgable sources and both contradict each other.

I was told in the 1990's from one source that the Fw190 was 015.1227, in the block of Fw190A-5's 0150.812 - 015.1793 built by the parent company of Focke Wulf Bremen.

The plate had Focke Wulf Bremen but what was not shown (having been covered in yellow theatre paint) was the factory. If it was Bremen it should have 'gwy' marked on it before the year 1943.

Now another source has indicated that this Fw190 was 0150.1227 and was manufactured by the Marienburg factory and would have had the code of 'nat'.

I have not got a construction block for Mariensburg and 0150.1227

Can anyone provide any info on whether it was 015.1227 or 0150.1227.

Good proof would be a construction plate near the above grouping and whether it has 'nat' or 'gwy' marked on it. (Any Werk plate collectors out there who can help?) Would be interesting to know what FHC have on their reproduction/copy plate?

Any info, would be very much appreciated.

Happy New Year to all.

regards

MS
