Ju 87D-5 loss 25.07.1944 Oblt. Haker SG77
Hi to all,
Does anyone have the details of Oblt. Theodor Haker's Ju 87 Stuka which was attacked by Mustangs on the 25th July 1944? Haker, a 23 year old RK holder had to make an emergency landing after his engine caught fire but overturned on landing. Haker tried to commit suicide and shot himself in the head but the bullet did not kill him instead he was blinded. Eventually he and his wounded gunner were picked up by by German troops in a lorry but were ambushed by partisans en-route and was murdered at the side of the road. His gunner who was already wounded acted dead in the ditch and managed to get away in the darkness and was picked up by SS troops. Any help always greatly appreciated.
