As promised: S/L Niven was shot down and killed flying Hudson Mark V, serial AM842, codes TR*S ( hit by Flak ) during a bombing mission over Borkum, on the night of 29-30 may 1942, as a diversionary raid. The ship Nordcap VP.1103 ( 385 tons ) was sunk by Hudsons from 59 Squadron that night. His crew: F/O Douglas John Richards ( RAFVR 403624 ), P/O James Joseph Reilly ( Can/J.6970 ) and Sgt. J. Howarth - all apparently died with him. Yours Adriano Baumgartner
