jg1 vs 397th bg 23rd dec 44
I wonder if anyone could help me with this. In Jerry Scutts's Marauder units of the 9th air force he describes briefly the attack on B26s of the 397th bg by Bf109s and Fw190s of Jg11 23rd Dec 1944. He also mentions that Jg-1 was involved, having done a bit more research I can't find anywhere else a mention of Jg-1 in this action.
I know that a lot of Luftwaffe units including Jg1 were up in the air on this day but does anyone know if Jg1 was indeed involved in the attack of the 397th and if so which gruppes? Thanks in advance. Gareth
