47th Liaison Squadron - 9th Air Force

As part of a museum research project I am trying to establish a link between the 47th Liaison Squadron (operating Grasshoppers) and the Third Air Force Clearing Station, 39th Medical Field Hospital. It is my belief that for a brief period in 1944, this squadron may have used the temporary grass airfield in Sissinghurst, Kent.

The 39th Field Hospital had a section based at Glassenbury Park, Cranbrook, Kent during this time and a further link with the airfield at Sissinghurst (about 3 miles away) is also being investigated.
