May 1943 HSU winner killed
In the book "Stalin the Court of the Red Tsar" has an account of the Soviet dictators son Vasily Stalin. He was a pilot who was given command of an air regiment on the North Western front. there he flew one or two combat missions. in May 1943 he set off on a drunken fishing expedition in which pilots caught fish by tossing aircraft rockets into a ponfd with delayed fuses. one of the rockets exploded, killing a Hero of the Soviet Union.
Does anyone know who the HSU winner was? Does anyone know which air regiment Vasily Stalin commanded? note: the man was a drunken incompetant. Thanks in advance. |
