Sgt LIMONOV, 57th GIAP - Spitfires 1943
Does anyone have any information about Serzheant LIMONOV who flew Spitfire Vs over the Kuban in 1943 with the 57th GIAP (Guards Fighter Air Regiment) (first name? patronymic?)?
He flew as wingman to Kapitan Viktor Chernetsov and encountered several of the 'names' of JG 52. BTW, an internet search reveals that someone named Konstantin Limonov formed a punk band in St. Petersburg a few years back named: Spitfire. So I suspect a connection. Of course, the name is the same in English and Russian.
