Two late Bf 109 to identify:
Good evening Gents,
today's haul showed up quite interesting pictures. I have here two nuts to crack: 1. http://www.flickr.com/photos/2809206...in/photostream If I'm correct, "RT+.U?" is an Erla produced Bf 109 G-6 with tall tail unit. Any clue as to which W.Nr.? I checked Peter van gogh's great Stammkennzeichen page, but to no avail: no Bf 109's are known to have sported the "RT+.." Stkz. 2. http://www.flickr.com/photos/2809206...in/photostream This one is tougher, owing also to the low res scan. For my eyes, it looks definitely like a Bf 109 G-10 (two small chin bulges denoting a DB 605 D); any idea as to which unit and where?. May I remind you of a third one I posted in the late war Bf 109 thread a while ago? http://www.flickr.com/photos/2809206...in/photostream According to Prien and Rodeike 1995, III./JG 1, I./JG 5 and II./JG 11 were the first to be equipped with this subtype. I would be most interested into identifying unit and place. Thanks in advance Marc |
