Pilot Officer Robert Sydney Jones, Flight Sergeant Cameron
I have both of these as evaders from an Italian camp in North Africa in January 1942.
It looks from a Google search that Cameron (112 Squadron RAF) managed to escape to British lines, walking for three days through the desert. Although another link says he also was recaptured http://www.mts.net/~royb/raf_kittyhawK_codes.html For R.S.Jones (3 Squadron RAAF?) I have him escaping successfully only in Italy, to Switzerland (if it is the same person), so he would have been recaptured then. http://www.aifpow.com/part_3__the_ra..._and_internees Can anyone confirm what actually happened?
