Is Lt Otto RUSS (II/JG53) still MIA?

Hey all,

Do today Lt Otto Russ (4/JG53) still be considered as Missing in action?

He was lost near Caen, Normandie, on july 2nd 1944.

Do someone have an accurate idea about who did shot him down? (...if he was shot down).

The 388th FS was evocated in one book (Rémy Chouinard)

But more official sources confirm that the II/JG53 encountered the canadian spitfires of 403rd RCAF on that mission;

Any idea about his loss ?

Did the wreckage of his "white 22", WNr. 440 679, maybe be found in last years?

Thanks for any answer

Mathias
