G3M shot down on 27 March 1943
On 27 March 1943, Capt William P. Boland of VMF-441 claimed a Japanese twin-engined bomber, thought to be a G4M, off Funafuti. It was a Type 96 (G3M) land attack bomber from 755 Kokutai. The pilot was Lt (j.g.) Takashi Sumimoto.
Can someone provide the precise location of the claim, if it is known ? And it is a long shot, but is someone has the Japanese crew list, I would be interested. My guess is that they were all killed/missing. Thanks in advance |
