Russia, 1942 - 50 days on the run!
Hi Guys,
I am searching for further information regarding Uffz. Dembowy and Uffz. Gutzeit who during 1942 spent 50 days on the run behind enemy lines. I have no date of their original loss but I believe it may be around June 1942, they were back with their unit by August 5th. On return they were congratulated by Hptm. Ihrig, so I presume at this time Gutzeit was serving with KG3? Artur Gutzeit was eventually killed on the 31.12.1944 whilst serving with NJG2. I would really appreciate the loss detail for Dembowy & Gutzeit, who were their other crew members? I hope somebody can help further - Matti?
