Re: Plt. Off. Vlotman

I just learnt of Mr Vlotman's exploits and found them highly interesting.

Sadly Mr Vlotman passed away on 29 september 2011 and was burried at Laren, The Netherlands, on 5 oktober 2011. He was 96.

Does anyone know if Mr J.L. Wood is still alive today?

I am trying to find out more about the first Ju 88 he shot down on the night of 21/22 March 1944. Apparently it was the leader of a 5-ship formation, heading for the Marconi factories. They never got there as a result of Vlotman's actions.

The navigator was the only survivor of this Ju 88 and he was found wounded by a police officer on the beach of Southminster.

Is the identity of this Ju 88 and its crew known?

(this also mentions the aircraft was a Mosquito XII, radartype AI VIIIA, serial HK365)
