First American citizens killed in WW2
When Akagi's fighters flew around Barber's Point on that fateful 7 December 1941, they met on their way three civil light airplanes:
– one was an Interstate Cadet flown by Miss Cornelia Fort, who broke away to safety. – one was a Piper Cub of K-T Flying Service, which was shot down (Robert Tyce, the instructor, was killed, but his pupil, M. F. Poston, parachuted). – the third one was another Cub from the same company, which was reported missing. Do aynone know the names of the crew? Thanks in advance. chris |
