Temporary landing grounds?
During Desert Storm, did US and Allied aircraft always operate from permanent bases or were there any temporary landing grounds like WWII PSP or something similar? I am especially thinking about the RAF and USMC Harriers.
May be that contemporary jets needed too much runway, when loaded, to justify temporary landing grounds? THX |
