Re: KG 54 loses in September 1939?
Hello,
I found this in "The Boelcke-Archiv, Band II" by Walter Waiss, page 81. 10.09.39, He 111 P, 1./KG 27, 1G +, 100%, F. T/o Neukuhren, 15.30 hrs. Absturz nach Flakbeschuss. Die Maschine gehörte zur Reservestaffel des Geschwaders und war in Fritzlar der 2./KG 54 unterstellt. Der FF und der BM konnten mit dem Fallschirm abspringen. FF Oblt Lieber (missing), BO Oblt Hans-Ulrich Eitner (missing), BF Ofw Friedrich-Wilhelm Börs (killed, °14.03.1912) and BM [ ] (missing). It seems the FF and BM later returned. There is also an account that 2 more aircraft returned with two wounded crewmen. I remember reading somewhere that the pilot and BM returned later. Hope this info is usefull. Best regards, Patrick |
