Question of numbers...
Hi all!
Have been studying a photo of JG 300:s base at Borkheide, autumn 1944. I agree that they are G-14/AS, as the small bulge on the cowling is visible. When I look at the number(s) however, I can naturally see the "1" just beside the BK. However, beside the "1" can also be seen a "5". As the two numbers are not aligned with one another, and too close, I have ruled out a sloppy groundcrew .So, my question is, is it a "5" with a painted out "1" or the other way around? Furthermore, the aircraft in the background also seem to carry the number "1". If anyone can enlighten me on this matter, I would be grateful. Humbly yours, Angantyr (source: Haldimanns...) |
