Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source
Hi Marc,
the first photo seems to belong to the same set of pictures as the rather famous one with Fw 190 "<3+", lying atop on a Ju 52 (printed e.g. in Classic Publication's "Jagdwaffe - War in the East 1944-45", p.154). On russian websites I have seen some of those images captioned as "Groß Dirschkeim". If this is true, then the airfield in question is most likely Fliegerhorst Brüsterort in East Prussia. According to ww2.dk this airfield was home to I. and III./JG 51 during the spring of 1945, so perhaps our Bf 109 belonged to one of this Gruppen. Cheers, Christian |
