Night Raid Report 27(/28) November 1941
Hello all,
Just a wild shot: has someone the RAF Bomber Command Night Raid Report for the night of 27/28 November 1941 ? During a raid to Düsseldorf that night, a heavy bomb fell into a part of Maastricht, causing casualties and many destroyed houses. The explosive - believed to be a 4000 lbs Cookie - made a roaring sound, similar to such incidents in Herten/Holland April 1942 (target: Essen), Blerick/Holland December 1942 (target: Duisburg) and Wageningen/Holland March 1943 (target: Duisburg). There is a pattern of course and this was not the V-1 Flying Bomb, with which the Dutch witnesses explained these tragic blasts, since they saw real V-1's passing by late 1944 and beginning of 1945, making similar roaring sounds.
