Re: Crash of Do 17 dated April 8th 1940 near Donauwörth
I guess this query is linked to the following case:
http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=255943 Battle of France Then & Now only covers operational units, so it possible a Do 17 of a rear area unit (training, ferrying, or service unit) crashed there. But I have not the loss lists corresponding. Regarding the presence of a Wermacht officer aboard, it could have been on a "pleasure" flight, or it could also be a flight to check from the sky if his ground unit was well hidden (something that was done at times by French Army officers at least).
