A Schleppgruppe was, as you suggest, a glider towing unit and the Ju 87 could tow a DFS 230 for example.
The losses at Posen (now Poznan, Poland) were probably due to the Russians overrunning the airfield. That's what had happened at nearby Schroda (Sroda) on 20 January, flyable aircraft being evacuated and others being blown up. Last edited by Nick Beale; 1st March 2015 at 11:23. Reason: typo |
