Re: Beaufort Loss
Hello,
A few years ago we found a document from the French gendarmerie indicating the loss of a British aircraft loss on the night of 6 to 7 December 1942 between 1:45 ET 2 am in the municipality of Langonnet (Morbihan). It crashed near the Bois mill in Langonnet. The shock is rough, the cabin is partly buried, the engine to burn ends at 6 meters of the carcass and the surrounding trees are covered with debris aeroplane linen. Gendarmerie Gourin summarizes the matter with these words: scrap heap. It would, according to them, a bomber Twin English. As for the occupants, no one knows what became of them. The Germans arrive in 14 hours the next day. Despite all our research we have not managed to find a crew and aircraft for the loss.
