Night fighter encounters, 29th June 1941
Hi,
No.218 Squadron had two separate encounters with JU88's on return from an attack on the marshalling yards at Bremen on the above date. Pilot Officer Maxwell (R1596 HA-D) reported he was attacked by a JU88 just off the English coast on return, while Sergeant Jolly (R1726 HA-O) reported a similar encounter also on route home. I would like to know if there were any claims for or reports available for these two attacks. Were any German night fighters units active over the English coast on this night, if so, who? Any help appreciated. Regards Steve
