Luftwaffe claims - Bay of Biscay 15-1-1943
On the Allied AF discussion forum there's a thread about a P-39/P-400 that was captured by the Germans at an as yet unknown location or date.
On 15-1-1943 Capt. Jack W. Oliver was made POW. He was with 81st FG, then transferring from the UK to N. Africa. A book says he was shot down in his P-39 at/near the Bay of Biscay but offers no further details. Are there any Lw claims in the Bordeaux/Biscay area that point to a P-39? If captured in fairly one piece, then the P-39/400 must have been forced down to land... Info welcome, thanks. Regards, Leendert |
