He 162 production
As of Oct. 44, the planned monthly output for the He 162 from May 45 on was as follows*:
- EAHG Rostock: 1,000 machines - EAHG Wien: 1,000 machines - Junkers Bernburg: 1,000 machines - Mittelwerke Mittelhausen: 1,000 machines Leaving aside EHAG Mitte building two-seaters. However, BMW could not promise more than 1,000 jet engines (BMW 003) in May 1945, increasing their output up to 4,000 engines by May 1946. This leaves about 36,000 aircraft with no engines for one year or more. So, what was the plan? * Forsyth/Creek (Classic Publ. #17), p. 32.
