361st FG P-51 lost against D-9?
Hello,
On the 26th December 1944, I./JG 26 tangled with 361 FG, losing 5 Dora's. Two P-51's were claimed by Obfw. SCHWARZ (Givet area) and Uffz. DELOR (Dinant area) but were unconfirmed and rejected. (source Caldwell) On the same date, a P-51 (or F-6?) felt near Hargnies (F), 12 km South of Givet. Pilot killed and recovered by US troops later. (Source Pierre & Françoise ROGER, following Gendarmerie report dated 26/12/44). Does the 361 FG lost an a/c in this battle? Is someone able to identify this pilot, perhaps (not sure!) victim of Erich SCHWARZ's guns ? Any suggestion is welcome. ClinA-78
