If the only photo available is of the tail, Forsythe may have simply assumed it is 6o79. Have we found a photo showing the whole a/c with 15 bars on the tail? Laureau's book's profile shows it with no kill markings - is that because he acknowledges it is uncertain?
Similarly, there is considerable dispute as to the colours the aircraft were painted. Forsythe says 6o79 was painted with RLM62 uppers, other say RLM63. There are similar issues with many other SCW aircraft. I don't yet know who or what is right. One source quotes a Lynn Richter, who is held up to be a Bf109 expert. Richter apparently says they would have been RLM63.
As for the suggestion of more books, I have 2 and can access information from a third, and none answer the questions - how many do we buy?? I also lament that they all seem to present conflicting information in some areas, so what's the point? Is it simply that there is not enough solid information available to answer the questions?
