Feldwebel Ernst Hemmer
On page 224 in the book "Last Talons of the Eagle",Feldwebel Ernst Hemmer piloted one of the first pre-production models,a Bachem Ba-349 Natter against a formation of B-24 Liberators and succeeded in downing two and damaging a third. Research for this book has, however, uncovered no hard evidence to support the assertion. My question is what flying units did Ernst Hemmer served before he became a pilot of the Bachem Ba-349 Natter in an unknown unit? I think Hemmer had really shot down these two B-24 Liberators while flying the Natter.
