RAF Pilot shot as German Spy May 23,1940

I was just reading a book Dunkirk by Joshua Levine, which is a well written account of Dunkirk. I have at least three other books on Dunkirk so I think I can make a fair comparison.

On page 119 it has the following segment:"[O]n 23 May, a RAF pilot who had baled out of his aircraft was captured and shot by French soldiers as a spy."
I looked through "Battle of France-Then and Now" by Cornwell but did not find anything.
