Dornier 17Z crew casualties 2/KG2 9.6.40.
Hi, could anybody confirm the crew casualties of 2/KG2 9.6.40.
I have conflicting information in two publications. Bo. Fw. Josef Forster wounded, Bf. Fw.Friedrich Lubbing killed, Ff and Bm. unhurt. Source, Ulf Balke's KG2 Der Luft Krieg in Europa pg.461. Peter Cornwell's The Battle of France Then and Now pg.453 gives different information. He states Forster was wounded in one a/c. the only casualty. Whereas Lubbing was killed in the second Dornier with Gefr.Heinz Kanow the bordfunker, badly wounded. Would anybody happen to have the KG2 NVM to clarify who flew in which crew and a/c. Any help gratefully accepted. Steve. |
