Hi Kari,
The number 1_40 is actually painted on the fin part, thats confirmed by other people than me looking at the photos, those were about 5 cm high white letters painted on that fin but the second letter was ´smudget´ ! When ArtieBob pointed at that it could have been 1740 he was 75% right. (Then likely not 1237 below - ok?) 1237 Ju 88 8L+FK 2./KuflGr 506 (Gen.d.Lw. b.Ob.d.M. East) OPS (F) missing (100%) unk location (Oesel) 04.10.1941 (F Uffz. Ernst Probst mis/rep killed in h/18.11.41, B Lt.z.S. Hans Ide mis, BF Obgefr. Herbert Schwabe mis/rep killed in h/18.11.41, BM Fw. Joachim Lemeke mis/rep washed-a-shore in b/18.07.42) ed
