KG 76 JU88 crash on 19 Aug. 1943 in France
On 19 August 1943, the JU88A4 from 10/KG76 crashed near Tournon d'Agenais, in the South of France, near Montauban, further to an engine fire;
The Aircraft (Wnr 883819 F1+NU) is 100% destroyed. The pilot Heinz Matthes is the only crew member killed. The others crew members most probably bailed out safely. I am looking for any information about this crash : - more information about the circumstances of the crash : was it a training flight ? a feindflug ? - what was the names of the other crew members ? - any personal information about the pilot: where was he from ? where was he born ? could we find his family ? Thanks a lot to all and as usual, a special thanks to Matti. GC |
