Fw 190 cockpit control

There's a small handle in the center of the instrument panel (on some, but not all Fw 190's) that can be spun or rotated. What is it?

Here are a few examples. Some are captured aircraft with American/British instruments just above the handle. The rotating handle and instruments have no correlation with each other.
